RICHARD A. KOOB, CLU, ChFC, AEP

Richard A. Koob, CLU, ChFC, AEP entered the life insurance industry i with Northwestern Mutual. He started as a college-student agent on campus in his junior year, later converted to full time status, subsequently took a position in the home office as a recruiter in the College Marketing Division and ultimately returned to the field as a Financial Representative.

Since then, he has received the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) National Quality Award for 31 years and the National Sales Achievement Award for 18 years. He is a 31 year member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) and their Legislative Circle for 12 years.

His history of service to our industry includes serving as Captain of the MDRT Program Development Committee three times and Chairman of the local and state MDRT Membership Communications Committee. In addition, he has served on numerous committees of MDRT; chairman of 5, overall holding more than 60 different positions, including Division Vice President.

Service to NAIFA includes Director of the NAIFA Wisconsin Committee on Political Action since. He is an IFAPAC Diplomat. He is Past President of the Waukesha Association and the Wisconsin Association. He is recipient of the Waukesha Association Distinguished Service Award. He is the recipient of the Wisconsin Association Distinguished Service Award.

He has served as Vice-Chairman of the NAIFA Committees on Associations, Conventions and Governance. He is a past chairman of the Committee on Associations and is a past chairman of the Convention Support Group.

he was elected to the NAIFA Board of Trustees, and re-elected. He was elected Secretary. In September he became President. During that term, he formed the Transformation Task Force, the largest task force ever assembled in NAIFA history. Since then, Koob serves as a Board Member of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE). In addition, he is Co-Chair of the Industry Task Force for the Future.

Koob is a Charter Member and Past President of the Waukesha County Estate Planning Council. He serves on the Insurance Committee of the Waukesha Area Chamber of Commerce. He has chaired the Catholic Memorial Crusader Auction and is Past Vice-President of his parish council. A veteran of the United States Army, he is a past recipient of the Governors Award for Outstanding Service.

Koob and his wife, Judy, reside in Waukesha, Wisconsin. They have three adult children; Kimberly, Melissa and Christopher.
